ISRAEL/PALESTINE, 2001
This proposal makes no attempt to alter of re-deploy Jerusalem's incredible assortment of styles of inhabiting space; it is devoted to more primary urban values and distinctions. It is clear that Jerusalem is moving toward becoming the capital city of two states: Israel and Palestine. Whatever else may be true of these tow nations and their labyrinthine histories of development and conflict, their capitals will find a measure of their expression in the "normal" infrastructure of any capital city – ministries and embassies, bureaucracies and businesses, symbolic and honorific sites, a city hall and a parliament – all the installations that make a capital city functional.
